The head of 2K's Hangar 13 studio, Haden Blackman, has stepped down from his position.

That's according to an internal email from 2K Games – as reported by GamesBeat – which says that Blackman is leaving the company to "pursue his passion at a new endeavour".

Nick Baynes of Hangar 13's Brighton studio would be taking over as the head of the overall company.

Blackman joined Hangar 13 back in 2012, having previously worked at the likes of LucasArts and Kabam, as well as as a freelance writer for a number of comic companies.

"We are grateful for Haden’s leadership in establishing Hangar 13, building and uniting teams in Novato, Brighton and Czech, and releasing multiple studio-defining Mafia games and collections," the internal email from 2k said.

"What Haden helped build will continue to carry forward and grow for years to come. We support all of our employees pursuing their passions, and we wish nothing but the best for him in what’s next."

Back in 2019, PCGamesInsider.biz caught up with Blackman at Develop:Brighton to discuss Hangar 13's ambitions. More recently, parent firm Take-Two cancelled a $53 million project that the studio had been working on.
