Amazon Games boss Frazzini is stepping down

The head of Amazon Games Studios, Mike Frazzini, is leaving his position at the company.

The news was confirmed to Bloomberg, which reports that the exec announced his departure from the firm on Friday, March 25th. In a post on his LinkedIn, Frazzini says that he is taking time off to spend time with his family, in addition to pursuing personal interests.

"As for my time at Amazon, I am just amazed by what I’ve had a chance to work on, and the people I’ve had a chance to work with," he wrote.

"Amazon is a rare and special place for builders - bold strategies, wildly talented (and committed) people, endless pursuit of operational excellence, and *extreme* customer centricity. It’s one heck of a place, and has been one heck of a ride."

In a statement to Bloomberg, Amazon spokesman Ryan Jones added: “Mike was there at the beginning of Amazon Games, and his leadership and perseverance helped build the games business from the ground up.

"Our recent successes with New World and Lost Ark are the result of the long-term, customer-focused vision for games he helped establish. We are very grateful for all his contributions, and wish Mike the very best.”

Frazzini has worked at Amazon since 2004, rising from a product manger position all the way up to director, then VP, of Amazon Games.
