Report: OtherSide lets go System Shock 3 development team

The development team working on the eagerly-anticipated System Shock 3 has apparently been laid off by Otherside Entertainment.

That's according to VGC, which reports that several senior leads have confirmed their departure from the studio. Staff including System Shock 3's writer and director, lead programmer and design director have all left the project in the last five months. Meanwhile, design director Chase Jones has left System Shock 3 per his own LinkedIn profile.

That followed OtherSide's ex-community manager Sam Luangkhot, who said there had been layoffs at the company back in December.

During 2019, the project was hunting for a new publisher after OtherSide bought the publishing rights back from troubled games firm Starbreeze. At the time, creative director Warren Spector (pictured) said that there were " a lot" of companies interesting in snapping up the game.

We've reached out to our sources at OtherSide to find out more.
