Today we catch up with industry icon Ian Livingstone ahead of his appearance at the up-and-coming conference

Tell us a bit about the company.

HIRO Capital is a new Venture Capital fund focused on Video Games and esports with a view to first close in H1 2019.

What does your role entail?

Finding the next 'big thing'.

Why did you want to work in the games industry?

Games were, and still are, my hobby.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to get into it?

Learn about the business of creativity.

What are your thoughts on the industry in the last 12 months?

Innovation and growth despite under-funding.

What major trends do you predict in the next 12 months?

Mobile games, streaming and esports growth.

How has the games industry changed since you first started?

Beyond recognition.
