Industry veteran Fredrik Loving is the new global head of LEGO's games arm.
He announced the move on LinkedIn, saying that he had joined the entertainment giant as SVP and global head of LEGO Game.
Loving joins from Spin Master, where he was president for over five-and-a-half-years. Before the he held roles at the likes of Rovio and DICE, where he worked for over ten yeasr, primarily on the Battlefield franchise. In 2017, he founded narrative-focused Goodbye Kansas, before leaving two years later.
"Thankful for five amazing years at Spin Master and for all the inspiring and talented people I had the privilege to get to know and work with," Loving wrote.
"Excited for my next chapter joining the LEGO Group as Senior Vice President and Global Head of LEGO Game. A brand I have admired for many years and loved since childhood."
This news follows LEGO announcing its plans to bring its video games division in-house after relying on licensing for the majority of its modern existence, after massive overleveraging into games development in the 90s.
