Mac giant Apple is launching a brand new games platform later this year.
The imaginatively named Apple Games is described as a "all-in-one" destination for people who play games. It's currently in beta and will be launching to customers at some point later in 2025.
Apple Games is coming pre-installed on MacOS 26 Tahoe, as well as iOS 26 and iPad 26 (for the PocketGamer.biz readers who have stumbled onto this website, hello).
Games on the App Store will automatically be brought over to Apple Games. The platform will feature leaderboards, challenges, achievements and multiplayer functionality.
"The Games app is a dedicated destination for people who love playing games on their Apple devices," the company wrote.
"Players can find new games through personalized recommendations based on the games they play, and what their friends are playing — offering an entirely new way for your games to get discovered."
This is the latest indication that Apple might finally be taking games – in particular, games on Mac – more seriously. Back in 2023, the company introduced the Game Porting Toolkit, alongside announcing that Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding would be coming to the platform.
