Lighthouse Games lands additional funding from Tencent

UK developer Lighthouse Games has secured more funding from Tencent.

There's no word as to how much money the Chinese tech and entertainment giant has given the studio, but Lighthouse says that this will speed up development on its debut title.

Lighthouse was founded back in 2023 by the co-founder of Forza Horizon maker Playground Games, Gavin Raeburn (pictured), back in 2023. That same year, it was given an unspecified amount of investment by Tencent.

“Tencent’s Venture Lab has been a fantastic partner, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support as we grow both our game and our studio,” Raeburn said.

“This additional investment signals real confidence in our project, our capabilities and long-term vision, especially at a time of significant change in our industry. It also allows us to strengthen our studio in Leamington Spa and pursue exciting, new creative opportunities for our debut title in the driving genre.”

The vice GM of Tencent's Venture Lab arm, Juno Shin, added: “We have tremendous confidence in the talent and vision of Lighthouse Games. Gavin Raeburn and his team bring unparalleled experience and a proven track record in the driving genre. We’re proud to support a studio with such strong foundations and bold creative vision.”
