Crystal Dynamics cuts 17 jobs

Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has made some layoffs. 

In a post on Twitter, the company announced that it was cutting 17 members of staff from its team adding that this was not a decision made lightly. Crystal Dynamics is currently working on a new Tomb Raider project that is being published by Amazon, in addition to contributing to the upcoming Perfect Dark reboot that is being helmed by Microsoft's The Initiative studios. 

"Ultimately, this step was necessary to better align our current business needs and the studio’s future success. It is not a reflection of the dedication or ability of those affected," Crystal Dynamics wrote. 

"We recognise how painful this outcome is for those impacted and we are supporting them with transition packages and opportunity outreach.

"Crystal Dynamics remains committed to pushing the boundaries of making great games. This change does not alter our current project plans."
