Grand Theft Auto maker Rockstar Games has bought developer Video Games Deluxe.
No figure has been put on the deal, which sees the studio rebranded as Rockstar Australia. Video Games Deluxe has previously worked on a number of Rockstar's re-releases, such as LA.Noire and LA Noire: The VR Case Files, as well as coming in to fix Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition.
The studio was set up by Brendan McNamara, who previously established LA Noire developer Team Bondi.
“After working together closely over many years, we are excited to have Video Games Deluxe join the team as Rockstar Australia,” Rockstar's head of publishing Jennifer Kolbe said.
McNamara added: “It’s been an honour to work closely with Rockstar Games this past decade. We are thrilled to be a part of Rockstar Games and to continue our efforts to make the best games possible.”
Rockstar has also announced that the Grand Theft Auto series has shipped over 440 million units to date.
