Balatro has hit five million sales

Addictive poker-themed roguelike Balatro has sold over five million copies to date.

That's according to Harvey Elliott, the CEO of publisher PlayStack, who told attendees at Pocket Gamer Connects London 2025 about the milestone – as reported by our sibling title PocketGamer.biz – adding that this was an "incredible" feat.

At last official count, back in December, Balatro had sold 3.5 million copies. No sales of the indie title have been bouyed by the fact that it won big at The Game Awards.

“Selling five million units of any game is an incredible milestone worthy of celebration," said Elliott.

“To achieve it less than a year from launch, with a game made by a solo developer is even more special.

“I am incredibly proud of the developer, LocalThunk, and the whole Playstack team who have rallied around the game to ensure it continues to go from strength to strength."
