The developer of the Robocraft series, Freejam, is closing its doors. 

That's according to TechRaptor, which spotted a message in the studio's Discord saying that it was unable to keep work going on Robocraft 2 due to "the current market conditions and server costs required". Going off of LinkedIn information, the studio employs 15 members of staff. 

The studio is yet to publicly address its closure. 

Freejam is ending work on Robocraft 2, as well as halting support for its 2017 predecessor and the upcoming cardboard survival title CardLife. 

Robocraft 2 has already been removed from Steam, but for the time being CardLife and Robocraft are still available. 

Robocraft 2 launched into Early Access in November 2023 and not only boasts Mostly Negative reviews on Steam, but it has only been reviewed by 1,760 players which says a fair bit about the game's popularity. When it first released, the title boasted a high 1,174 concurrent players. Within a week, this had dropped to a peak of 256 simultaneous users; in the last three months it hasn't had more than three concurrent players.
