IllFonic is making job cuts

Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator: Hunting Grounds maker IllFonic is making cuts to its staff.

In a post on LinkedIn, CEO and co-founder Charles Brungardt wrote that it has had to do this on the back of the state of the industry.

A more likely candidate is that the studio's most recent release – Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game – has not been able to attract and retain enough of an audience to keep it going. That title was a success to Friday the 13th, which IllFonic had to pull from sale after its license to the horror property expired.

"Today we had to accept the harsh reality that the state of the industry has impacted us here at IllFonic," Brungardt wrote.

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that cuts to our teams had to be made today as we realigned to a refined strategy."

"There is a lot of talent in the group and if you or your team is hiring, please reach out so people can be connected to open roles."
