Manor Lords sold 1m copies on first day on sale

Medieval strategy title Manor Lords has sold north of one million copies.

That's according to the CEO of publisher Hooded Horse, Tim Bender, who posted on the game's subreddit that the title had hit this sales milestone one day after its April 26th release date.

Adding to that, Manor Lords also reached 170,082 concurrent players on Steam within its first 24 hours; it has since had 173,178 simultaneous users. Bender claims that this is the biggest debut for a game of this kind.

"Since yesterday's launch Manor Lords has already sold over 1 million copies & hit a peak Steam concurrent player count of 170k - highest ever for a city builder (or for other different genres like GSG/4x/colony sim)," Bender wrote.

"Congrats Lords Manor, we're honoured to serve as your publisher."

Over on Twitter, the game's official account added: "This is a bit crazy. Thanks everyone for giving the game a chance."

Prior to the game's release, Hooded Horse said that Manor Lords had been wishlisted over three million times.
