Report: Ubisoft has cancelled Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel

French publishing giant Ubisoft has apparently cancelled an in-development sequel to 2020's Immortals Fenyx Rising.

That's according to VGC, which has spoken to a number of staff at the company's Quebec studio, who said that the project was canned earlier in July. That's due to 'challenges around establishing the IP'.

In a statement to the website, Ubisoft confirmed that it is “reallocating some creative teams and resources within the Quebec studio”.

“As part of our global strategy, we are redirecting and reallocating some creative teams and resources within the Quebec studio to other unannounced projects," the company continued.

“The expertise and technologies these teams developed will serve as an accelerator for the development of these key projects focused on our biggest brands. We have nothing further to share at this time.”

Immortals Fenyx Rising – formerly Gods and Monsters – made its debut back in 2020.
