Amazon reportedly working on Tomb Raider TV show

Amazon is apparently working on a television show based on the Tomb Raider IP.

That's according to The Hollywood Reporter, which claims that Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag fame is writing scripts for the series and working as an executive producer.

Amazon Studio's former head of comedy and drama Ryan Andolina and the company's development exec Amanda Greenblatt are also executive producers – via their newly formed production company – as is Dmitri M Johnson of Dj2.

This news comes in the wake of Amazon revealing that it will be publishing the next entry in the Tomb Raider franchise. This will be helmed, once more, by Crystal Dynamics, who was acquired from Square Enix by Europe's Embracer Group, alongside all of the Japanese giant's Western IP and developers.

This television show is likely a factor in this partnership coming to fruition. Last year, there were reports that a bidding war was underway for the movie rights for Tomb Raider.
