Netflix is working on a triple-A PC title

Streaming giant Netflix is developing a new triple-A PC game.

That's going by a job listing on the company's website for a game director, which says that the project in question is a blockbuster PC title.

This is one of the first games that Netflix is developing and certainly the first non-mobile project that it has announced. Netflix Games, until now, has been focusing on mobile titles.

The listing mentions that the game director needs to be "creative and highly-skilled" and that they will be free to "create, ship and run a game without any competing design constraints due to monetisation." The project is going to be prototyped in Unreal Engine and it looks like shooting is going to have a role in its gameplay.

"We're building the foundation for a small, but ambitious team of creators," the listing said.

"We’re looking for that group of key leaders who are aligned with our core values, and care deeply about the experiences they create as well as the people they make them with. Those who bias towards action and are energised by the learning that comes with bold experimentation at an agile pace. As a part of Netflix, we strive to hire the best and value integrity, excellence, respect, inclusion, and collaboration."

Last year, Netflix hired EA and Facebook vet Mike Verdu to head up its new games business. The firm also snapped up Scopely vet Amir Rahimi to head up its internal studios.
