Overwatch 2 has attracted over 35m players to date

The recently-released Overwatch 2 has already been played by over 35 million people since its debut last month.

That's according to publisher Activision Blizzard, which reports that many of these players were new to the shooter franchise and that average daily player numbers for the title's first month were over double that of its predecessor.

"Over 35 million people played the game in its first month, including many who were new to Overwatch," the company wrote.

"The expanded community is engaging deeply, with average daily player numbers for the first month of Overwatch 2 more than double that of its acclaimed predecessor. Player investment is also off to a strong start, positioning the title to be a meaningful contributor to Blizzard's business in the fourth quarter."

Overwatch 2 launched on October 4th and brought in 25 million players in its first ten days on the market.
