Sony's Days Gone is being made into a movie

It looks like PlayStation's Days Gone is coming to the silver screen.

That's according to Deadline, which reports that the project is being penned by Sheldon Turner and Sam Heughan of Outlander fame is set to star as the main character, Deacon St John. Vendetta Productions' Jennifer Klein is producing the movie, alongside Turner.

The outlet says that the script is a "love ballad to motorcycle movies".

This is the latest PlayStation IP to make the transition to movie screens. Earlier this year, the Uncharted franchise made its silver screen debut starring Tom Holland of Spider-Man fame. That brought in more than $401.7 million globally. Meanwhile, Neill Blomkamp is reportedly directing a film based on the Gran Turismo series of racing games.

Days Gone was released back in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 before coming to PC in May 2021. It's unclear how many copies the game has shifted to date.

While it has historically focused on its console business, Sony now seemingly has some big plans for PC in the future
