Dovetail VP Wilding has passed away

Lizzie Wilding of Dovetail Games has passed away.

In a post on LinkedIn, the publisher said that she had died on Thursday, May 26th following a "brief and valiant battle" against colon cancer. She is survived by her husband Sam, their five children, her mother, uncle, and grandfather.

"Dovetail Games and the industry have lost one of their brightest lights, a fantastic colleague, an amazing mentor, and most importantly a wonderful friend," the publisher wrote.

"Lizzie was a wise, caring, witty, fearless woman who we shall remember with great fondness and love. She was passionate about this industry and its people. She was an avid gamer, who always put players first and loved nothing more than making them happy by providing engaging, fun experiences."

Wilding is an industry veteran whose started all the way back in 1997 as a web manager for Gremlin Interactive. After two years there she moved to EA, where she remained for almost four years. Since then, she held positions at Sony, Codemasters, NaturalMotion and Jagex. That was before joining Dovetail in 2016, first as VP of publishing, before being promoted to VP of commercial operations in March 2021.
