DICE LA renames itself Ripple Effect

EA's DICE LA studio has been renamed to Ripple Effect.

As revealed in a blog post on Electronic Arts' website, the rebrand comes 18 months after news that Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella was coming on board to head up the Los Angeles-based studio.

“We’re so proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team will forever be a part of our DNA, but over the past eight years, we’ve developed our own culture and our own way of doing things,” Ripple Effect GM Christian Grass said.

“We’re excited to look towards the future, expand the team and establish our own identity.”

Zampella added: “The talent here has a great track record of producing high-quality titles and the studio’s set to make even more incredible games in the future. With an amazing new campus coming to Los Angeles and remote positions available, now is a great time to consider joining us."

DICE LA was initially founded back in 2013 from the ashes of Medal of Honor maker Danger Close. Since its inception, it has provided support to the main DICE studio over in Stockholm on Battlefield 4, 1 and V.

DICE is currently working on Battlefield 2042, which is set to launch in October of this year. Ripple Effect is primarily handling that title's live-service portion, as well as another unannounced project.
