CHARTS: Third No.1 since launch for Cyberpunk 2077

Despite a litany of issues and bad press since launch, CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 has been the best-selling item on Steam for the third week since its release.

The title has taken the No.1 spot for the third week since launch and is the highest-selling game on Valve's platform for the fifth week on the trot. Before its release, Cyberpunk 2077 was pre-ordered eight million times, raking in around $500 million for developer CD Projekt, while the game attracted more than one million concurrent users within hours of release.

Valve's Index VR headset was the second best-selling item, rising one place week-on-week, while the company's DLC for online shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Operation Broken Fang, dropped from No.2 to third.

Co-op VR title Phasmophobia holds steady in the No.4 spot, while Kojima Productions' Death Stranding takes fifth place. The title is currently 50 per cent off at the moment thanks to a deal from its PC publisher 505 Games, but has likely also attracted attention this week thanks to crossover content with Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the studio celebrating its fifth anniversary last week.

Among Us from Innersloth takes No.6, while Devolver Digital and Mediatonic's Fall Guys charted in No. 7 thanks to the launch of the chaotic and colourful multiplayer smash hit's third season of content being rolled out. Supergiant's Hades falls three places to No.8, while Football Manager 2021 drops one position to No.9. Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar rounds out the charts in tenth place. This might be driven by the launch of the Cayo Perico Heist content, which rolled out on December 15th, as well as attention from Rockstar releasing a cheap version of its other title, Red Dead Online.

Here is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending September 19th:

1. Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt
2. Valve Index VR Kit, Valve
3. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - Operation Broken Fang, Valve
4. Phasmophobia, Kinetic Games
5. Death Stranding, 505 Games
6. Among Us, Innersloth
7. Fall Guys, Devolver Digital
8. Hades, Supergiant
9. Football Manager 2021, Sega
10. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
