Halo 3 launch pushes Master Chief Collection Steam player figure up

Halo 3 recently joined Halo: The Master Chief Collection, bringing back a lot of players on Steam.

The title boasted 54,416 concurrent players on Valve's platforming following its release, according to SteamCharts, an increase on the 10,819 peak simultaneous users seen in June. In May, the game saw a high of 45,253 following the release of Halo 2: Anniversary on Steam.

That 54,416 figure is roughly half the simultaneous users that Halo: The Master Chief Collection saw when it was released back in December 2019. At the time, Xbox marketing chief Aaron Greenberg said that around three million people had played the compilation.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection was the second best-selling item on Steam last week due to a 20 per cent price cut in the platform's Summer Sale.
