Call of Duty's new battle royale made looks set for a March release

Call of Duty Modern Warfare's new battle royale – Warzone – mode is set to be released in early March.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, March 10th is the most likely release date given updates to the game are typically launched on Tuesdays.

Currently, there is one section of Modern Warfare that is classified. Upon release, the classified zone will unlock to reveal Warzone. The new battle royale mode was first teased in the season two trailer earlier this month.

The latest game in the franchise is not the first to feature the popular game mode. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 - in 2018 - was launched with the Blackout battle royale.

Since its launch, Modern Warfare has become the most-played multiplayer title in the series for the past six years. Furthermore, five million digital copies were sold in its launch month of October 2019.

On top of this, Activision has claimed that Modern Warfare received the biggest PC launch for the franchise.

Yesterday, the Call of Duty movie was announced to be on hold. It will be on the back burner until all parties agree on what direction to move forward in.
