There’s just under two weeks to go until Big Screen Gaming takes place in London (January 20th and 21st), and today marks the end of our daily track rundowns.
Big Screen Gaming will make its debut in London after a successful outing in Helsinki, and is the successor to previous years’ PC Connects. It’s the partner event to Pocket Gamer Connects London, and it covers all the latest trends in the business of PC and console games.
We finish off our daily rundowns with XR 2020.
January 21st
14:00: To kick off the XR 2020 track, Niantic’s Alex Fleetwood presents the ways Niantic is solving challenges to achieve the full potential of AR and the business developments that can be realised.
14:20: Resolution Games’ Bjorn Englesson shows the process behind Angry Birds VR.
14:40: Why are the digital giants so keen on augmenting our reality? How will AR change our lives & What does it mean for games? Dream Reality Interactive’s Dave Ranyard explores how AR can change our lives as we know it.
15:00: XR Games’ Boddy Thandi delivers a session giving insights into designing VR for family fun.
15:20: Hear about Cooperative Innovations four years developing technologies and ideas to enable co-operation, with Simon Barratt. Learn about some of the challenges faced with the development of Spaceteam VR and how they designed for a group of potential strangers to have fun online in XR together.
15:40: BrainzVR’s Thomas Tumosa talks through Experimenting on creating a co-location multiplayer game for Oculus Quest. Session briefly touches on game design and illustrated thought processes on how he developed some of the VR mechanics.
16:00: REWIND’s Neil Evely discusses the future of entertainment, autonomous vehicles and XR.
16:20: Publishers Clearing House’s Jason Krupat shares how he used his experience in cross platform & mixed media games to solve one of america’s most notorious puzzles and dig up long lost buried treasure.
16:40: And to wrap up the Big Screen Gaming event, Blue Donut Studio’s Marcus Pullen, Thoughtfish’s Christina Barleben, Niantic’s Alex Fleetwood, Ludare Games’ Sam Chandola, Internet of Elephant’s Jake Manion and Virtual Reality Simulation Systems’ Tim Luft discusses the vision for XR in 2020 and beyond.
