Peripherals and component maker Corsair acquires pre-built system seller Origin PC

Corsair, a leading peripheral and component maker, has acquired custom PC seller Origin PC.

Having over a decade in experience, Origin PC specialises in creating hand-built personalised PCs. The firm offers a range of powerful gaming PCs, workstations and gaming laptops.

The companies will maintain individual branding, remaining mostly separate with Origin PC expected to continue work in its Miami offices handling warranties, sales and support. Corsair will continue to sell its range of systems such as the Corsair One and Corsair One Pro.

iCUE integration

The iCUE software system from the component maker will be integrated into Origins PC systems, as will the Corsair Hydro X system cooling range in selected hardware. Further cooperation will be announced in the near future.

"With the gaming PC market continuing to expand as an increasing number of players make the jump from console to PC, we wanted to do more to reach customers in North America that prefer to buy, rather than build, their system," said Corsair founder and CEO Andy Paul.

"With Origin PC's expertise in personalised custom gaming systems and Corsair's strength in performance PC hardware and the iCUE software ecosystem, we're excited to combine our efforts to create new world-class gaming experiences for PC gamers."
