Valve accidentally unveils Steam.tv, a new streaming service set to rival Twitch

It looks like Valve is looking to put the 'R' in Steam after the company accidentally showcased a glimpse of its' latest project.

A link to what looked to be some kind of streaming platform went live over the weekend, titled Steam.tv. The page was only up for a short amount of time.

The feed on the homepage was showing live footage from The International 2018, Steam's Dota 2 tournament. When questioned about the site, Valve said that the link was not supposed to go live yet.

"We are working on updating Steam Broadcasting for the Main Event of The International, Dota 2's annual tournament," a Steam representative told CNET.
