Chrono Trigger PC port receives a “final major update”

The PC port of Square Enix’ classic RPG Chrono Trigger has received its last major update.

A Steam version of the SNES title was launched earlier this February, and received fairly negative reception thanks to a poorly-adapted control scheme, interface, and a host of graphical glitches.

This latest and last update adds a host of fixes, and marks the last in a series the developer has shipped to the title since its February launch. Key binding customisation has been implemented, both for keyboard and controller users.

A pair of game-breaking graphical issues has been resolved, alongside “several minor bugs”. Alongside these improvements, the general interface has seen several adjustments to further tidy up the experience.

Finally, Chrono Trigger on Steam has been given an extras menu, full of in-game movies and concept art for viewing.

“This will be the final major update in a series that began after the game’s release in February 2018,” read the full Steam patch notes. “The project staff would sincerely like to thank everyone for their opinions and feedback during this time.”
