Telltale on further Walking Dead games: "This is the end of Clementine’s journey, and that’s as much as I’ll say"

Telltale creative director Kent Mudle isn’t ruling out future entries in the studio’s Walking Dead series of games.

Speaking to IGN at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Mudle was questioned on Season 4’s billing as ‘the final season’. He responded, briefly, confirming only that this was the end of one particular story in the universe, implying the potential for further releases.

“This season is the end of Clementine’s journey, and that’s as much as I’ll say on that,” said Mudle.

The Walking Dead arguably popularised Telltale’s distinct brand on Season 1’s launch back in 2012. Since then, Telltale has not only continued with the series, but explored spin-off stories like 500 Days and Michonne - to say nothing of their rapid expansion into other licenses.

If we do see another Walking Dead from the studio, it’s not likely to be in Telltale’s outdated engine. Hopefully, company culture can improve alongside its technology
