Epic's battle royale game Fortnite made $223m in March, SuperData reckons

Epic’s free-to-play battle royale game Fortnite brought in $223 million across mobile, PC and console in March, according to research firm SuperData.

In a monthly report titled Worldwide Digital Games Market: March 2018, the firm revealed that Fortnite’s revenue was up by 73 per cent from February and is now the largest free-to-play console game of all time, regarding revenue generated and monthly active users.

Fortnite’s popularity was also boosted by various influencers such as Twitch favourite Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, who played with recording giant Drake in one stream in March.

That stream attracted over 600k concurrent viewers and peaked at around 630k. It was helped in no small part by Drake tweeting out a link to his 36.9 million followers.
