A new iteration of the biggest video game IP on the planet might be in stores in the next three to four years.
That's according to YouTube channel The Know (below), which claims that Grand Theft Auto VI will be set in Vice City and South America, and will be out in 2021 or 2022.
Furthermore, the title will feature the franchise's first playable female lead (six entries in - how blessed).
There's no word on the timeframe the game is set up.
The Know has been on the money with its rumours before; the channel previously leaked the existence of Dark Souls III ahead of its announcement. But at the same time, a return to Vice City isn't exactly an uncommon rumour.
Incidentally, there have also been rumours that the Grand Theft Auto franchise would be heading to Japan for its sixth numbered entry.
All this is to say - wait and see. And yes, you're damn right we'll cover Grand Theft Auto rumours - think of that sweet sweet SEO.
We're not going to hear anything about Grand Theft Auto VI until Red Dead Redemption 2 launches at the end of this year, for fear of Rockstar overshadowing its western cousin.
One thing is for sure - the game will feature a sizeable online component. We have no evidence of this, except for the frankly ludicrous amount of money that Grand Theft Auto Online brings in for Take-Two and Rockstar.
