No, someone wasn’t just refunded $45k for Star Citizen purchases

No, someone wasn’t just refunded $45k for Star Citizen purchases

The developer of hugely anticipated sci-fi MMO Star Citizen Cloud Imperium Games has said that claims of a user being refunded $45,000 are false.

In an email to PC Gamer, the organisation said that these claims are “totally fabricated” as well as “wrong on so many levels.”

This follows a post on the Star Citizen Refunds subreddit, where a user claimed they had refunded three Completionist backer packs, each worth $15,000.

Cloud Imperium DID confirm to PC Gamer that a refund was issued recently, but this was to the tune of $330.

When pressed on whether the person boasting of a $45,000 refund might be the same customer, only having doctored the correspondence, a rep from Cloud Imperium responded: “Yes to the first. Yes to the second…as best as we can tell."

Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, the user behind this Reddit post has now deleted their account, which is a sure sign of innocence
