Reports point to Texas Overwatch League franchise being snapped up

It would seem that another Overwatch League franchise has been sold off.

EPSN reports that OpTic Gaming has finalised an investment deal, involving Texas Rangers co-owner Neil Leibman for the Houston Overwatch team franchise, worth $20m. This amount will be paid over time, but the details of the deal are yet to be revealed.

There have also been reports that oil exec Kenneth Hersh has put $35m into Team EnVyUs to purchase rights to the Dallas, Texas franchise.

Deals to purchase a team in London and Los Angeles were brokered last month. That LA team is the second that has been snapped up.

As if this wasn’t enough, Blizzard has upped its investment in Overwatch eSports, with the games maker announcing a brand new arena.
