Prytania Media launches two new studios

ArenaNet veteran Jeff Strain's Prytania Media has added two new studios to its stable.

The company has unveiled Fang and Claw and Dawon Entertainment. The former is working on a new fantasy combat sport title and already has $3 million in seed investment from the Transcend Fund.

The founding team includes studio head Jeremy Gaffney, previously a senior director at Blizzard and the co-founder of Turbine Entertainment, Warner Bros Games Montreal vet and executive producer Fleur Marty and Horia Dociu – a veteran of 343 Industires and Sucker Punch – who is the studio's art director. Creative director Chris Venturini and technical director Ben Scott both previously worked at Undead Labs.

Dawon Entertainment, meanwhile, is based in India's Bangalore and is Prytania's first studio in an emerging market.

The venture is headed up by studio director Whitney Beltrán and is focused on creating games for Indian players created by Indian developers.

Dawon and Fang and Claw bring Prytania's stable up to four developers following the founding of Possibility Space and Crop Circle Games.
