Microids opening Paris studio

French games company Microids is setting up a new development studio in Paris.

This new outpost will be working on adventure titles and will be headed up by studio director Antoine Villette. He is a veteran of the French games scene, having worked at developers Darkworks and Afterdark, in addition to heading up the country's former video games trade body APOM between 2002 and 2005.

"This new project is a real challenge," Villette said.

"The opening of this studio in Paris will allow the teams to devote themselves to new large-scale projects that will come to fruition in the coming years. It is today with great ambitions, humility and thirst for excellence that I join Microids to take the direction of its Parisian studio. I would like to thank Stéphane Longeard and Elliot Grassiano for the confidence they have shown in me and for allowing me to return to my first love.”

Microids CEO Stéphane Longeard added: "The creation of this studio comes as an addition to the one we launched last June, under the direction of David Chomard. Microids Studio Paris aims to develop adventure games Microids is well known for. We are delighted to be able to count on Antoine Villette to lead this studio."

This is the second new studio that Microids has set up this year after setting up an office in Lyn in June.
