Double Fine publishing boss Rice departs firm after Xbox purchase

The vice president of business development at Double Fine Greg Rice has left the adventure game specialist.

As reported by VGC, Rice (pictured, right) was in charge of the Double Fine Presents publishing label, whose future was put in doubt in the wake of the company's acquisition by Microsoft earlier this year.

Taking to Twitter, Rice said that working with Double Fine boss Schafer (pictured, far right) was a "dream come true" and that he is proud of his achievements at the firm. There's no indication where he has departed to just yet.

"Here’s something I never thought I’d say, yesterday was my last day at Double Fine,” he wrote.

“It’s been a dream come true working with the world’s greatest human [Tim Schafer] and the crew of incredibly talented, caring, wonderful people he’s assembled at Double Fine for the last decade.”

“I’m so proud of all the amazing things we’ve accomplished and really really sad to leave, but am comforted to be leaving them in a great spot with Psychonauts 2 looking amazing and the Microsoft sale ensuring many many more of the insanely creative games you’ve come to expect.”
