AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su has squashed rumours of her leaving the company.
Taking to Twitter (below), the top exec refuted a report from Wffctech that said that Su was leaving and eying up a job at IBM
Su has been with AMD for seven years, joining in 2012 as Senior Vice President and General Manager looking after global business. She then became COO before becoming president and CEO in 2014.
Since Dr Lisa Su became CEO, the firm has seen success with AMD Ryzen taking over some market share from Intel.
The company’s semi-custom division is gearing up for the next-generation consoles, Sony’s next console - presumably the PlayStation 5 - and Microsoft’s Project Scarlett.
Had the rumours been true, Su would have likely been replaced by Rick Bergman, the former CEO of Synaptics, according to Wccftech. The company recently hired him as the Vice President of computing and graphics.
While CEO Su has claimed she is staying with AMD, several company executives have left over the past year. These include Mike Rayfield, David Wang and Sandeep Chennakeshu who hasn’t been with the company for very long.
“Just for the record, zero truth to this rumour. I love AMD, and the best is yet to come,” said Su in response to a tweet on Twitter.
