Creative Assembly is hiring for its biggest multiformat project yet

The UK based developer behind the Total War franchise, Halo Wars 2 and Alien Isolation is tooling up to work on its biggest project to date.

Speaking to an insider at the studio, PCGamesN reports that this new IP is "the biggest multiformat project Creative Assembly has ever undertaken". Furthermore, it's being made by the team that developed Alien Isolation and Halo Wars 2.

Job ads for this new project were uploaded to the studio's site yesterday - with postings for a senior meta game designer, lead systems designer and lead technical artist - but beyond that there's little to glean from them.

There is a hint it will be a games-as-a-service, with reference to ”economy, progression and retention methods, leaderboards, challenges, world building and events" in the meta game designer job ad.

This sounds like it's in the very early stages of development, so might be a while before we see much more about this project.

Creative Assembly is also working on a brand new RTS game in the newly-created 'A Total War Saga' series called Thrones of Britannia
