Creative Assembly is working on Alien: Isolation sequel

UK developer Creative Assembly has confirmed that it is working on a sequel to 2014's critically acclaimed Alien: Isolation.

The news comes via creative director Alistair Hope in a post on the studio's official Twitter account, in which he revealed that a follow-up to the survival horror hit is in the works. He does note that the project is in early development.

“On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear,” Hope wrote.

“Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.

“We look forward to sharing more details with you when we’re ready.”

The game sold over two million copies in its first seven months on sale.

The news that an Alien: Isolation sequel is in the works comes in the wake of a period of strife for Creative Assembly. The Sega-owned studio had long been working on an ambitious hero shooter title called Hyenas that had a troubled development but was also the most expensive game the Japanese publisher had ever committed to creating. Said project was cancelled in 2023.
