The co-founder of vitual reality specialist NDreams, Patrick O’Luanaigh (pictured) is stepping down as CEO.
As of June 1st, he will be transitioning to be chair of the company while chief development officer Tom Gillo will be replacing him as chief executive. Patrick O’Luanaigh founded NDreams back in 2006 alongside Tamsin O’Luanaigh.
“I am incredibly proud of what we have built at nDreams since Tammy and I rented a tiny office in 2006 and took the plunge,” Patrick O’Luanaigh said.
“It has been an amazing, challenging and incredibly rewarding journey. We have achieved so much already, and yet the company still has so far to go, with VR/MR still in its infancy. From a new vantage point as Chairman, I’m excited to see nDreams reach even greater heights under Tom’s capable leadership.”
Gillo added: “It’s an honour to succeed Patrick as NDreams’ CEO. He and I go back a long way – all the way to PlayStation Home days. Being on the journey alongside him building nDreams over the past ten years has been the defining chapter of my career to date, and being able to continue that journey and build upon that legacy into the future with the backing of Aonic is both a fantastic opportunity and a real privilege.”
NDreams was acquired by Aonic Group in 2023 for $110 million; almost a year later, the company laid off 17.5 per cent of its staff.
