Japanese publishing giant Capcom has reported record profit for its eighth consecutive financial year.
According to its report for the 12 months ending March 2025, the company brought in ¥98.8 billion ($667 million) in gross profit, a 16 per cent increase on the previous year's figures. Net sales rose 11.3 per cent to reach ¥169.6 billion ($1.1 billion), while operating income was up 15.2 per cent year-on-year at ¥65.8 billion ($444 million).
Capcom's video games business was the core driving factor behind its results. The company shifted 51.87 million units during the financial year, a five million increase on 2023/24. Monster Hunter Wilds was a big contributor to this performance after the action RPG sold ten million copies within its first month on sale; Capcom says that it also saw an increase in sales for other entries in the series off the back of Wilds' success.
Looking forward to the 25/26 financial year, Capcom predicts net sales of ¥190 billion ($1.28 billion) and operating income of ¥73 billion ($492 million). This would be the ninth year in a row of record profits for the Japanese firm.
