Supermoves dev Makea is shutting down

The developer of Supermoves, Makea Games, is closing down.

That's according to a post the game's website from CEO and founder Tomi Toikka, who wrote that the studio was going to be shutting down "effective immediately".

There's no reason given for Makea closing up shop, but it's fair to assume that the lack of attention its debut title, Supermoves, has received. SteamDB stats show that the game boasted just 50 concurrent players back around its release in August. Within the last 24 hours, the title has managed two concurrent players at its peak.

Makea was founded in 2022.

"After over three incredible years building Supermoves and bringing the vision of the Makeaverse to life through user-generated content, we've reached the end of the road for Makea Games," Toikka wrote.

"Despite our team's best efforts — and the unwavering support of our community, collaborators, and partners – we are deeply saddened to announce that Makea Games is officially winding down, effective immediately.

"Thank you for believing in a small team with big dreams. We may be closing this chapter, but the spirit of Makea lives on - and so do the lessons, the ambition, and the fire to build again."
