2K removes launcher from Steam and Epic titles

2K Games has removed its launcher from every title that it has published on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Last month, the company announced that it was – gag – sunsetting the tech in November, in addition to removing a beta version of the program from Sid Meier's Civilization 5.

"We've done the heavy lifting, but to take it all the way home there might be one step left for you. First thing is to try closing and reopening Steam - that means completely closing and not just using the X to minimise the platform," 2K wrote in a blog post.

"Rebooting your PC is a good way to be sure it happened. For Epic, just make sure you've downloaded the most recent update for the game."

The company added that titles such as BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, BioShock Infinite and Marvel's Midnight Suns will boot up directly after players press play.
