Throne and Liberty brings in three million players in first week

Over three million people have played the free-to-play MMO Throne and Liberty.

That's according to publisher Amazon Games, which unveiled the figure one week after its initial release on October 1st. The title was developed by Korean giant NCSoft.

The company adds that Throne and Liberty has been watched for 11 million hours on Twitch and that players have spent 24 million hours in the MMO.

“Bringing Throne and Liberty to players around the world has been a huge shared undertaking by our team and our friends at NCSoft, and we’re so pleased to see the results as players join the game,” Amazon Games VP Christoph Hartmann (pictured) said.

“We’re only getting started, and we have a series of updates planned including our first castle siege coming soon.”

In August, Hartmann said that he hoped Amazon would be making more than MMOs but to date this has been the genre that the retail giant has seen the most success in. In 2021, the company released New World, while the following year Lost Ark was rolled out.
