NCSoft backs Moon Rover Games with $3.5m investment

Korean games giant NCSoft has invested $3.5 million in Swedish developer Moon Rover Games.

The venture was founded back in 2022 by veterans of DICE; the studio is currently working on a co-op FPS dubbed Project Aldous.

“This investment represents a milestone in the history of Moon Rover Games," Moon Rover Games CEO Julien Wera said.

"It will enable us to combine the experience and ambitions of our team with the vast knowledge of NCSoft in the development and operations of online games, to bring new gameplay experiences to players around the world.”

NCSoft's co-CEO Byungmoo Park added: “In our search to forge new business opportunities, we are actively exploring studios with specialized genre expertise and strong development capabilities. Moon Rover Games stands out with its profound experience in the FPS genre and innovative approaches.”

“Project Aldous will enhance NCSoft’s game portfolio both in terms of genre diversity and regional reach. We’re confident that partnering with Moon Rover Games will contribute to our global expansion and strategy to develop robust game development clusters.”
