CHARTS: The First Descendant debuts at No.1 on Steam

Nexon's newly-released The First Descendant has shot to No.1 on Steam.

The free-to-play third person looter shooter launched on June 30th and went straight to the top spot. Despite this, at time of writing, the game has mixed reviews on Steam.

That title has knocked Elden Ring off the No.1 spot, where it has resided for the last two weeks thanks to a discount as well as the launch of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which has dropped from fifth to seventh.

Counter-Strike 2 fell from second to third, while Valve's Steam Deck hardware also dropped one place to fourth.

PUBG: Battlegrounds rose two places to fifth, while Baldur's Gate 3 hangs in steady at sixth.

Naraka: Bladepoint rose from No.64 up to eighth thanks to a brand new map, coming in ahead of co-op romp Chained Together, which fell just one place to ninth. Rounding off the Steam Top Ten is Cyberpunk 2077.

Here is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending July 9th:

1. The First Descendant, Nexon
2. Elden Ring, Bandai Namco
3. Counter-Strike 2, Valve
4. Steam Deck, Valve
5. PUBG: Battlegrounds, Krafton
6. Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios
7. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Bandai Namco
8. Naraka Bladepoint, NetEase
9. Chained Together, Anegar Games
10. Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt
