Activision sets up new Polish studio called Elsewhere

Microsoft's Activision has established a brand new studio called Elsewhere Entertainment.

Announced in a blog post, this new venture is based in Warsaw, Poland, though has some staff in the United States. Elsewhere is focused on making narrative-based triple-A titles.

The studio is being led by CD Projekt and Ubisoft veteran Michal Madej, who is also serving as game director. Elsewhere also features a wealth of industry talent, including development director Jan Marek, who previously worked at Activision and Techland, The Initiative and DICE vet Eric Persson, who is the company's art director, and gameplay director Patryk Fiutowski, who previously worked for over nine years at CD Projekt.

"Built from the ground up, Elsewhere Entertainment is a premier and standalone studio dedicated to establishing an environment that inspires bold and diverse ideas. The team’s underlying mission encourages everyone to explore and collaborate creatively to craft a franchise with an enduring legacy that resonates far beyond games," Activision wrote.

"The new studio has full access to Activision’s resources and tools as it continues to increase production and development. Elsewhere is opening its search for best-in-class talent from across the industry and around the world to help create a state-of-the-art and next generation gaming experience."
