CHARTS: Baldur's Gate 3 ends 2023 at No.1 on Steam

CHARTS: Baldur's Gate 3 ends 2023 at No.1 on Steam

Critically acclaimed role-playing game Baldur's Gate 3 was the biggest selling game on Steam as 2023 came to a close.

This is the second week in a row that Larian Studio's smash hit has been at No.1 on the platform. It's currently 10 per cent off, which likely helps, though the Christmas break has likely given people time to get into the expansive title.

Second place went once again to Valve's Steam Deck hardware, while the company's shooter – Counter-Strike 2 – sits at No.3

PUBG: Battlegrounds returns to the Top Ten in fourth place while co-op horror romp Lethal Company drops one position to No.5 week-on-week. Apex Legends returns to the Top Ten in sixth, while Call of Duty also fell two places to No.7. Cyberpunk 2077 came in at eighth thanks to a 50 per cent price cut while Elden Ring charts at ninth having shot up from 67th place to sixth last week.

Finally, free-to-play military sim War Thunder rounds off the Top Ten for the second week in a row.

Apex Legends also returns to the Steam charts

Here is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending January 2nd:

1. Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios
