Arkane Austin to stay open for now, says Xbox studios boss

The developer of Redfall, Arkane Austin, is going to remain open, at least for now.

That's according to the head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty (pictured), who told Axios that the plan was to keep the firm open. He added that the company is working on updating Redfall.

“That is the plan right now," Booty said.

"They are hard at work on updates and continued content for Redfall.”

The game launched earlier this year and was promptly mauled by both consumers and critics. Booty says that Redfall's quality is at least in part down to Xbox Game Studios.

“I feel accountable that we could have done a better job with Arkane,” he said.

That being said, Redfall is apparently receiving a fair bit of attention over on Game Pass. “It was a miss, but how much of a miss?" Booty says. "I want to support them to be able to keep working to deliver the game they had in mind.”
