DICE vets launch Behold Ventures fund

Two former members of EA's DICE studio have set up a new VC fund called Behold Ventures to help Nordic startups.

The outfit has been set up by the Battlefield developer's former VP, GM and CEO Karl Magnus Troedsson (right), as well as Star Wars Battlefront senior producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir (middle right). The duo is joined by Sequent's Magnus Kenneby (far right).

The fund has $25.9 million to play with and is targeting games startups in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland.

“We’re a small venture capital fund and are passionate about our small sector,” Troedsson told GamesBeat.

“We believe that we can do better than many others at picking the winners inside of this sector. We can also do better than others helping our portfolio companies create value, and help them become great companies. And if we do this right, we will not only help usher in a new generation of game developers, but we’ll also make great business for ourselves and our limited partners in the fund.”
