Amazon and Fox vet Tal Yguado founds Astrid Entertainment

Former Amazon Studios and Fox Network exec Sharon Tal Yguado is opening a brand new games venture called Astrid Entertainment.

This outfit has already attracted seven figures in investment from names such as NetEase Games, Stardom and Tower 26. Astrid Entertainment's aim is to create games that can grow into multi-medium IP, as well as "inspire positive, community play."

Tal Yguado has previously helmed the likes of The Boys and The Walking Dead TV shows.

"I love developing rich worlds and watching millions of people engage and build communities around them," Tal Yguado said.

"We are seeing a new generation that wants something different. They enjoy walking into evocative worlds that give them freedom, let them hang out with their friends, explore, discover and create their own stories. I am incredibly lucky to have found and partnered with like-minded visionary game developers who are already pushing boundaries in this medium. We can’t wait to announce our incredibly talented gaming leadership team. Soon!”
